About this collection

The Delaware Museum of Natural History’s mission is “to excite and inform people about the natural world through exploration and discovery.”  As part of its mission the Museum maintains world-class collections of bird, mollusk, and mammal specimens for research, teaching, and outreach.  The archives contain records relating to the Museum’s specimen collections, as well as to the scientific work of the collectors and the Museum’s scientists.  The Museum also maintains records relating to the local study of birds and mollusks, particularly those resulting from the work of citizen scientists.
