Description	The purpose of the study was to determine if there are significant relationships between the independent variables gender, age, education, income, race, cigarette smoking, general health, and days not healthy and the independent variable physical inactivity. The 2008 Delaware Behavioral Risk Factor Survey was the instrument used in the study administered by household landline phone. Only complete data sets from answers to questions were used from 3,839 of the 4,020 adult Delawarean participants. A quantitative, correlation design was used for the analysis. Descriptive statistics were used for the demographics. The Pearson r and Spearman rho tests determined that there was no significant correlation of relationship between physical inactivity and cigarette smoking. However, the Pearson r and Spearman rho tests found physical activity and all demographics to be of moderate significant correlation for relationship. It was concluded that other studies are needed that would look at future Delaware Behavior Risk Factor Surveys and a random sample of the entire adult Delawarean population by cell phone and household landline phone calling. Also, the older one becomes the more likely they are to exercise. The more vigorous the activity the more likely there will be a reduction in chronic disease. A separate study using Delawareans from a low socioeconomic group may promote physical activity. Lastly, physical activity interventions at local clinics, interventions for men and interventions in the workplace may increase the use of physical activity.
