I feel awfully lonesome and I'm mighty blue I've been feeling homesick for about a month or two I'm longing for my hometown back in Delaware and I'll be so happy When I know that I'm back there. I can see the dear old Brandywine which is always peacefully flowing and that little sweetheart that I once called mine with her smiling face a glowing I can see those pink peach blossoms, too and smell their perfume in the air with those other blue hen chicks I'll be mighty glad to mix When I get back home in dear old Delaware. Delaware I'm longing for you once again and old "Bob Whites" whistle 'mid the fields of waving grain while over here in Frenchland fighting 'gainst the Hun of the time I'm thinking when back to your arms I'll come.
